2nd day: Gole D’Alcantara/ Taormina/ Acireale

3rd day: Catania/ Etna/ Acireale

4th day:Acireale/Ragusa/ Modica/ Noto/ Avola/ Siracusa/Acireale. After breakfast we will travel up the eastern coast of Sicily. During the trip we will visit the small cities of Ragusa, Modica,Noto and Avola. Noto is at 32 km southwest of the city of Syracuse and it is famous for its fine buildings of the early 18th century, considered among the main masterpieces in the Sicilian baroque style. We will pass through Avola on our way to the very famous ancient city of Syracuse. |
Start by visiting the famous Aretusa Fountain and the surrounding ruins, including the marvelous theatre and the "Ear" of Dyonisios. We will go at the hotel where we will have lunch. In the afternoon we will visit Ortigia, the small baroque city center of Syracuse. Dinner at the downtown restaurant.

5th day: Acireale/ Agrigento/ Caltagirone/ Acireale After breakfast we will leave towards the city of Agrigento where we will visit the "Valley of the Temples." We will spend the evening in the heart of downtown of Agrigento with dinner at a local restaurant. We will stay in a family-owned Bed & Breakfast establishment in Agrigento. We will continue the trip to visit the city of Caltagirone. The city has been long famous for the production of pottery and terra-cotta wares. Nowadays the production is more and more oriented to artistic production of ceramics and terra-cotta sculptures. |
| 6th day: Acireale/ Piazza Armerina/ Enna/ S. Stefano di Camastra
After breakfast we set our sights on yet another beautiful small town, Piazza Armerina in the heart of Sicily. One of the major attractions we will see is the Roman Villa of Casale, famous for its fantastic mosaics. |
Enna is called the BELVEDERE (panoramic viewpoint) because the city is concentrated in the top of a mountain. In fact, Enna is the highest provincial capital of Italy.
It is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Messina. It is well-known for its ceramic industry, which you will have a chance to experience as a part of a local demonstration! We will stay in typical family B&B. In the evening you are free to explore on your own. |
7th day: S. Stefano di Camastra Sadly, our journey is going to end and we must make our way back towards Palermo. After your delicious (we hope!) lunch you will have the afternoon free to explore the small town, the beautiful beaches, relax and get ready for the departure next day, |
