Suggestive itinerary to know the Sicilian gastronomy coming from various territories and therefore they are so different; a travel to taste and esteem the peculiarities in each Sicilian wine, that will be served with the rich local dishes.
Two Different Tours:
Authentic Sicily: Culture and Gastronomy Tour
DAY 1
Arrival at the airport and transfer to our agriturismo, a rural accommodation an ancient Sicilian Baglio of the 19th century. Day free. Dinner and overnight in agriturismo.
DAY 2: Mozia – Marsala
Breakfast in agriturismo.
Today we discover beautiful island of Mozia surrounded by windmill. Once there we have an archaeological trekking discovering Phoenician ruins as cothon , tophet, mosaics and a museum where are preserved interesting findings as marble statue of Young Man of Mozia. Lunch in a winery in Marsala tasting typical wine of Sicily and in the afternoon visit of Marsala downtown combining shopping to culture tour visiting Punic ship Museum.
Return in agriturismo for dinner and overnight.
DAY 3: Palermo
Breakfast in agriturismo. Meeting with our tour leader and departure by coach to Palermo. Here, we willvisit typical markets as Ballarò, Vucciria, and interesting churches and buildings that belong to the Muslim –Norman heritage (Church Martorana, Church San Giovanni degli Eremiti, Palazzo dei Normanni). Lunch in an ancient Sicilian fast food tasting all the typical gastronomy food as arancine, sfincione, panino con lepanelle, panino ca meusa. In the afternoon we continue our cultural tour reaching Monreale appreciating its cloisters and mosaics preserved in the church. Return to our agriturismo for dinner and overnight.
DAY 4: Trapani – Salt Route – Erice
Breakfast in agriturismo. Meeting with our tour leader and start of tour in Sicily visiting Museum Pepoli in Trapani. In this museum we will admire all the coral, gold and silver works created by local craftmen. So we continue our tour in direction of the salt route visiting an ancient Sicilian baglio where we will taste all the typical olive oil of West Sicily as Nocellara, Valli Trapanesi DOP, Blend, Cerasuola and a red wine Nero d’Avola. So we continue our tour reaching the marvellous Salt Calcara, once an island today linked to the land, where we will see the phases of production of sea salt, respecting Phoenician tradition, the ancient Muslim windmill with its salt pans. Lunch break tasting typical foods. In the afternoon we discover Erice, medieval town surrounded by defence walls that protect ancient castles, churches and beautiful buildings. Walking along the narrow streets, we will have a peaceful sweet tasting in an ancient pastry shop of Erice, that produce almond sweet respecting nun’s traditions. Retun in agriturismo for dinner and overnight.
DAY 5: Segesta – Salemi
Breakfast in agriturismo. Today we visit Sicilian hinterland appreciating wild valley of Belice with its little town full of history. First stop in Segesta, archaeological sites interesting for its temple and theatre. Lunch break in a typical restaurant hidden in Mountain Grande. In the afternoon relaxing walk in an ancient medieval town: Salemi with its conical layout, seeming to stay in a labyrinth, discovering castle, churches and ancient building. Return in agriturismo for dinner and overnight.
DAY 6: Selinunte – Rampinzeri – Castelvetrano
Breakfast in agriturismo.
Departure in direction of Selinunte, discovering the biggest archaeological area in Europe, guided by our professional guide Elena letting us know secrets of this place. After this archaeological tour we proceed to have a lunch in an ancient Castle Baglio enjoying in tasting typical dishes and Slow food of Belice Valley: Vastedda Cheese, Sausage of Santa Ninfa, Black Bread of Castelvetrano. In the afternoon we will be having a nice walk in another little town: Castelvetrano. There we will enjoy in discovering the beautiful courtyards of ancient buildings and its beautiful churches. Return in agriturismo for dinner and overnight.
DAY 7: Trapani, Scurati
Breakfast in agriturismo.
Today we will imagine to live Sicily of 19th century visiting an ancient cave where local community lived in the houses built insideof it and today it hosts a museum of ancient traditions. Here we will see an ancient craftmen that work marble, a woman that weave carpets and a shepherd that produce ricotta cheese. From September to December possibility to arrange a olive oil workshop using an ancient stonemill and olive press. Lunch inside the cave and in the afternoon we can relax having a shopping in Trapani downtown, visiting a cheese farm where our guests could buy typical cheese.
Return in agriturismo for dinner and overnight.
DAY 8
Breakfast in agriturismo. Transfer to airport.

DAY 1

DAY 2
Breakfast in agriturismo. Meeting with our tour leader and start of tour in Sicily discovering ancient Sicilian roots of our ancestors.
At first we live a popular pilgrimage trekking along the coastline of Cofano Mountain reaching “Chapel of crucifix” adorned by little palm, where citizens of Custonaci, Bonagia, used to have a pilgrimage every year last Wednesday of March. So we proceed in direction of an ancient cave where citizens used to live in the houses built inside and today it hosts a museum of ancient traditions. Here we will see an ancient craftmen that work marble and the main phases of production of ricotta cheese. From September to December possibility to arrange a olive oil workshop using an ancient stonemill and olive press. Lunch inside the cave and in the afternoon we visit an ancient little town popular for Holy Mary of Custonaci. Before returning in agriturismo, visit of another beautiful little town: San Vito lo Capo with its sandy beach. Return in agriturismo for dinner and overnight.
DAY 3
Breakfast in agriturismo.
On board of our coach bus we reach Castellamare del Golfo visiting its little town feeling as a member of a crib. We will have a walking tour along the narrow street of this town visiting castle and churches. So we continue our tour in direction of Scopello visiting its downtown concentrated in the square with its ancient Sicilian Baglio and going in direction to the sea Tunny Fishing surrounded by Faraglioni unusual rocks formations. Lunch in an ancient bakery tatsing the typical “Sicilian Pane cunzato”.
In the afternoon we will entry in the nature reserve of Zingaro with the possibility to enjoy a sea bath in its uncontaminated beaches. On the way back visit of Buseto Palizzolo little town popular for an intersting workshop of production of Ericini carpet. Return in agriturismo for dinner and overnight.
DAY 4
Breakfast in agriturismo.
Today we visit Sicilian hinterland appreciating wild valley of Belice with its little town full of history
First stop in Segesta, archaeological sites interesting for its temple and theatre, before continuing tour in direction of an ancient medieval town: Salemi. This town present a conical layout and we will feel to stay in a labyrinth discovering castle, churches and ancient building. So we proceed in direction of Santa Ninfa
welcomed in an ancient Sicilian Baglio seeing the phases of production of Santa Ninfa sausages before tasting it. Lunch in this baglio, tasting all the typical food, appetizers and dishes of Belice valley as Vastedda cheese, Black Bread of Castelvetrano. In the afternoon we discover Partanna appreciating its castles before returning to agriturismo for dinner and overnight.
DAY 5
Breakfast in agriturismo. Meeting with our tour leader and departure by coach to Palermo. After lunch we visit Erice medieval town surrounded by defence walls that protect ancient castles, churches and beautiful buildings. Walking along the narrow streets, we will have a peaceful sweet tasting in an ancient pastryshop of Erice, that produce almond sweet respecting nun’s traditions. Retun in agriturismo for dinner nad overnight.
