This itineray goes over the most suggestive places in Ragusa area, where quite all "Commissario Montalbano"'s movie has been made.
We will alternate cultural visits, such as the Baroque in Ragusa and Scicli, and enogastronomic visits, to wine-cellars or/and rural farm to taste local products (the famous chocolate in Modica, the "Dop caciocavallo cheese", the cow ricotta cheese, the "arancini", the "granita", the carob tree sweets and liqueurs...); and naturally the visits (from the inside or outside) to the main noble houses where the most important stages have been made. "Montalbano's minitour" will end with an aperitif served on the terrace of the protagonist detective's house, waiting for the sunset on the wonderful sandy beach in Punta Secca, characteristic seaside place belonging to Santa Croce Camerina's town, in Ragusa area. You will remember there the marvellous swims that Mr Montalbano used to have in the limpid waters of this sicilian coast.
1st day: Ragusa Ibla
Arrival at Catania airport, transfer to Ragusa, welcome cocktail and presentation of the tour program; dinner and overnight.
2nd day: breakfast and visit of Ragusa Ibla, characteristic town of medieval structure and rich of baroque Palaces and Churches; stopping in the most seen places of the movie. Back to hotel for lunch. In the afternoon continuation of visit, penetrating in Ragusa countryside; stop in a rural farm to be present to workmanship of ricotta cheese and caciocavallo cheese and to taste some of local products for dinner. Back to hotel for overnight.
3rd day: Scicli
Breakfast and visit of Scicli, small suggestive town for its location, where you can visit the center of Police station and the square, which have been seen in the movie. Lunch with fish menu. In the afternoon you can have a walk in Donnalucata and Marina di Ragusa, both of them are bathing places, with a standstill to taste the savories Sicilian "arancine". Dinner and overnight in hotel.
4th day: Casa Montalbano
Breakfast and roundtrip through the countries in Ragusa; external visit of any ancient villas used during the cinemas resumptions. Lunch in a typical restaurant beside the Castle of Donnafugata and visit to the Castle, where some stages have been made. Finally we will arrive at Punta Secca to visit "Montalbano's house," in splendid position directly on the sea and in whose terrace an appetizer or a "granita" will be served to the guests while they wait for the sunset. Back to hotel, farewell dinner with a folkloristic show. Overnight.
5th day: Breakfast and transfer to Catania airport.
